Welcome to this elegant Grade II listed 17th Century coaching inn, set in the ancient town of Amesbury, just 1 mile away from Stonehenge. The hotel has recently been acquired and it has had an extensive alterations and refurbishment that has been sympathetically done in keeping with the building. The hotel is set in a half acre walled garden, complete with a Victorian ornamental fountain, as seen in the BBC production of Miss Marple (NEMISIS) staring the illustrious Joan Hickson. The hotels other claim to fame, is that in May of 1965 the FAB 4 (The Beatles) stayed in room 20 while they were filming ‘HELP’ on Salisbury Plains. The 17 en-suite bedrooms are individually decorated and have their own style and character.

All the original charm and character remain in tact in the hotels public rooms that are reminiscent of a bygone era. The tastefully decorated hotel bar, has double opening doors to a most impressive drawing room, with full length south facing windows looking out onto the beautiful gardens. Both the bar and the drawing room benefit from open log fires, which burn throughout the winter months.

The hotel boasts 2 restaurants, and only fresh local ingredients are used to produce excellent meals either in the bar or the restaurants. Our bar offers a range of real ales, with new guest ale each week, as well as a comprehensive wine list.
